Contemplation I

In most all religions I think it can be found that a common denominator is to be good to each other and expressions of unity. Even Jesus had said, "And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:20-22

I am sure similar in context writings can be found in other religions. So why is there a need for killing each other in war, famine, pestilence?

Why must we complicate things, when it is so plain to see if we just follow the common denominator; things will be fine?

There was a saying that how you are in your heart, is who you are and how you shall be. Doesn't it come down to everything else just being semantics?

Is a main cause of all this a need and desire to separate ourselves? We need to have our 'own' bank accounts, our 'own' cars, our 'own' land. Are we all not human? Do we all not eat the same way, breathe the same and die the same? Do we all not exist in this very present moment with enough intelligence and ability to see and change ourselves?

Just what exactly are we trying to separate ourselves from?

I've often wondered about this myself. If our original state is one of unity, and that is where we find our bliss... then what the hell happened? Where did this ego come from???

I don't have an answer, just more questions. Maybe someday we'll know.

Great post, fascinating idea for a blog. I'll be visiting again!

Good question at the bottom there..

None of us are really all that separate.

We're trying hard to separate ourselves from God, for some reason. GOod job it doesn't really work, isn't it? Separateness is just an illusion.
Somehow this life has lead me to a place where the state of separation is less and less every day.
Great blog.

there is an individual consciousness and a group consciousness. 'group' defines who we are and where we fit in according to 'society'. left alone we die. there are many studies that demonstrate this condition.

'in order to survive we have to kill everyone that's different'.

ants do it, dolphins do it, human beings do it.

everything in life does it sometimes to the actual self-sacrifice of individual death in order that the group survive.

our challenge is to overcome this concept on an individual level and learn to apply it in a group dynamic.

there is no 'other'; there is only one. the group is the individual.

you have an excellent blog, by the way.
